"Let's Reach Out For The Skies" is this year's National Day's song. The english version is sung by both Rui En and Taufik. The chinese version is sung by Rui En alone.
This song is played in almost all the Macdonald's i had visited for the past 2 weeks. The song seems to be repeated in every 15 minutes interval, alternating between the two languages. You can get to see the video too cause it is played on the LCD screen.
I think the song is nice! Really! There is also a dance made for the chorus of the song. 4 sets of 8 counts movements. Rather easy. Comparable to the one choreographed for "We Will Get There" in 2002. The instructional video can be found at http://www.ndp.org.sg/index.jsp?page=videos.htm
Reach Out For The Skies
Composed by: Elaine Chan
Lyrics by: Selena Tan
Arranged by: Joshua Wan
At the time when hope was low
The journey seems unsure
But throught it all
We've kept the flame alive
Now standing proud and tall
Our spirit strong and free
Building on hopes and dreams
It's here we want to be
Chorus
Let's reach out for the skies
With wings we soar up high
Our dreams we'll all achieve
We'll make our destiny
Let's reach out for the skies
With wings we soar up high
Our dreams we'll all achieve
Let's soar and reach for the skies
When I think about my dreams
The future it can be
The time has come for me
To strive and to achieve
With hopes within our hearts
As one hand in hand
For family and our friends
Let's do the best we can
Chorus
Let's reach out for the skies
With wings we soar up high
Our dreams we'll all achieve
We'll make our destiny
Let's reach out for the skies
With wings we soar up high
Our dreams we'll all achieve
Let's soar and reach for the skies
Our dreams we'll all achieve
Let's soar and reach for the skies
We can touch the skies
Did I mention that MJ Choir is going to perform this song with the choreography at the school's National Day's Celebration? They are! How I wish I can perform with them... *sigh*
I miss participating in NDP'02
